Trauma and Attachment Informed EMDR Therapy

New Roads Counseling - Marty Schwebel, LMFT

Providing psychotherapy for those who are overwhelmed with life

Individual Therapy Retreats

Step Away. Gain Clarity. Begin Meaningful Change.

There are seasons in life when we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure about the path forward.

Sometimes the challenges we face require more than the limited time available in a traditional weekly therapy session.

An individual therapy retreat provides dedicated time and space to step away from everyday distractions and focus deeply on the issues, experiences, or decisions that matter most.

Through extended, personalized therapy sessions in a peaceful retreat setting, individuals are able to slow down, process difficult experiences, and begin transforming patterns that may have felt stuck for years.

Many people find that a focused retreat allows them to make more progress in a few days than months of traditional therapy.

A Private and Personalized Experience

Each retreat is designed for one person at a time, allowing the entire experience to be fully tailored to your needs and goals.

This format allows us to:

• explore important life experiences in greater depth
• understand patterns that may be shaping your relationships and decisions
• process trauma or unresolved emotional pain
• gain clarity around important life questions
• develop practical tools for continued growth

The retreat format provides the time and focus needed to jumpstart meaningful healing and personal transformation.

A Peaceful Retreat Setting

Individual therapy retreats take place on a private 10-acre property in the Sierra foothills of Northern California, approximately 2½ hours from the San Francisco Bay Area.

The natural environment offers a quiet setting for reflection, emotional processing, and deeper insight.

Time away from daily routines often helps individuals gain new perspective and renewed clarity about their lives and relationships.

The retreat experience includes comfortable lodging, nourishing meals, and time between sessions for reflection and integration.

What an Individual Retreat May Look Like

Each retreat is personalized, but most follow a structure similar to this:

Before the Retreat

Before arriving, you will complete an intake process and brief online assessments that help identify key areas of concern and clarify your goals. This preparation allows the retreat to be tailored specifically to your needs so that our time together can be focused and meaningful from the start.

Arrival and Orientation

We begin by clarifying your goals for the retreat, exploring your personal history, and identifying patterns that may be contributing to current challenges or distress.

Focused Therapeutic Work

The retreat includes extended therapy sessions designed to explore emotional patterns, process unresolved experiences, and develop insight into beliefs and relationship dynamics that may be affecting your life.

Between sessions, you will have time for reflection, journaling, or taking a walk on the property’s nature trails.

Integration and Moving Forward

As the retreat concludes, we focus on integrating what you have learned and developing practical tools for lasting change. Together we will create a clear roadmap for continued growth and healing.

After the Retreat

For those who would like additional support, follow-up therapy sessions can be scheduled online. If ongoing therapy is desired closer to home, referrals to trusted therapists can also be provided.

Who Individual Retreats Are For

An individual therapy retreat may be helpful if you are:

• processing trauma or difficult life experiences
• feeling stuck in patterns you want to change
• navigating a major life transition or decision
• seeking deeper self-understanding and personal growth
• wanting focused time to reflect and gain clarity

These retreats are designed for individuals who are motivated to engage deeply in the process of healing and personal transformation.

What People Often Walk Away With

Individuals frequently leave their retreat with:

• greater clarity about the patterns shaping their lives
• deeper understanding of past experiences
• emotional healing and renewed perspective
• practical tools for managing stress and relationships
• a clearer sense of direction for the future

Many people leave with a renewed sense of hope and forward movement.
