Want to become a Night Walker?
Unfortunately, as a therapist I have seen the devastating effects of suicide or attempted suicide on families and friends, such as the family of Emma that I mentioned in a previous post.
However on June 8th, 2019, I am excited to be joining forces with thousands of other people by participating in the Overcoming the Darkness Walk to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
My team and I will be walking all night through the streets of San Francisco with the awesome goal of reducing the suicide rate 20% by the year of 2025.
An update on my growing team
Just to give an update, my incredible Team New Roads Counseling now consists of my son, my best friend, my old college buddy flying in from Montreal with his daughter, a friend from church, and hopefully a few others.
It’s not too late to join our team either in person or in spirit by donating.
Money, Money, Money
So far my team has collectively raised $5,550 towards our team goal of $10,000. If you want to give towards our goal, click the options below to either give monetarily or actually join Team New Roads Counseling and walk with us.
Are you struggling? Do you know someone who is struggling?
If you are in crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or contact the Crisis Text Line by texting TALK to 741741. You can also make an appointment to get help from a therapist, either myself or someone else that you trust.
