Pain and Suffering is a Gift?!

February 26, 2019 by Marty

The Best Gift I Ever Survived…

This 3 minute Ted Talk moved me deeply. I encourage you to spend a few minutes and view it as you consider any pain in your own life. I’ve experienced pain and suffering in my life that was truly horrible while it was happening but later I was able to reflect on it and see the redemptive effect on my present life. I would love to hear your redemption stories so feel free to reply to me and I will definitely keep these stories confidential.

Here is a quote that I particularly liked from Stacey’s talk:

“And while I’m okay now, I wouldn’t wish this gift for you. I’m not sure you would want it. But I wouldn’t change my experience. It profoundly altered my life in ways I didn’t expect…The next time you face something that is unexpected, unwanted, and uncertain, consider that it just may be a gift.”
