Couples Therapy Retreats

Renew Connection. Transform Relationship Patterns. Move Forward Together.

Every relationship goes through difficult seasons.

Over time, couples can become caught in patterns of misunderstanding, emotional distance, recurring arguments, or loss of trust. When these patterns repeat, it can feel difficult to find a way forward.

A private couples therapy retreat offers the opportunity to step away from daily stress and focus fully on understanding what is happening beneath the surface of your relationship.

Through extended, personalized therapy sessions in a peaceful retreat setting, couples are able to slow down, communicate more openly, and begin transforming the patterns that keep them stuck.

Many couples find that a focused retreat allows them to make more progress in a few days than months of traditional weekly therapy.

A Completely Private Retreat Experience

Unlike many couples programs that involve group workshops, these retreats are designed for one couple at a time.

This allows the entire experience to be fully personalized around your relationship, your challenges, and your goals for change.

The private format allows us to:

• explore relationship patterns in depth
• slow down difficult conversations
• understand emotional triggers and misunderstandings
• develop healthier ways of communicating and reconnecting

The goal is not simply to talk about problems, but to help couples create meaningful change and renewed connection.

A Peaceful Setting for Reconnection

Couples retreats take place on a private 10-acre property in the Sierra foothills of Northern California, approximately 2½ hours from the San Francisco Bay Area.

The natural setting provides a calm environment that supports reflection, openness, and deeper conversation.

Stepping away from the demands of everyday life often helps couples gain new perspective and renewed clarity about their relationship.

Retreats include comfortable lodging, nourishing meals, and time between sessions for reflection and integration.

What a Weekend Retreat May Look Like

Each retreat is customized, but most follow a structure similar to this:

Friday Evening

Arrival and welcome
Orientation to the retreat process
Exploring relationship history and patterns
Clarifying goals for the weekend

Saturday

Morning therapy session exploring relationship dynamics
Communication exercises and guided conversation

Break for reflection and rest

Afternoon session addressing deeper emotional patterns
Tools for improving communication and connection

Sunday

Focused work on unresolved areas
Developing practical strategies for moving forward
Creating a roadmap for continued growth after the retreat

Who Couples Retreats Are For

Couples often choose a retreat when they:

• feel stuck in repeating arguments
• experience communication breakdowns
• want to rebuild trust after betrayal
• feel emotionally distant from one another
• want focused time to strengthen their relationship
• want to prepare intentionally for marriage

Retreats are designed for couples who are motivated to better understand each other and work toward meaningful change.

What Couples Often Walk Away With

Couples frequently leave their retreat with:

• a clearer understanding of their relationship patterns
• improved communication tools
• renewed emotional connection
• practical strategies for resolving conflict
• greater clarity about the future of their relationship

Many couples experience a renewed sense of hope and direction.
