Meet Marty
My mission is to help people navigate the ups and downs of life. I often think of life as a road. Some days are smooth and easy, and other days we hit unexpected potholes. Even in the midst of pain or struggle, I believe we all have the opportunity to find new roads forward. I am privileged to help people facing depression, anxiety, grief, unforgiveness, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. Therapy can be a life-changing process for anyone willing to invest a little time and openness.
A bit about my journey
I have spent much of my life helping and encouraging others. Growing up in Texas, my parents and grandparents instilled the values of faith, hard work, and service to others. Over the past three decades, I have:
- Served as a pastoral counselor in San Francisco
- Worked as a chaplain counselor in West Africa aboard the world’s largest nonprofit hospital ship
- Supported at-risk youth and their families
- Volunteered as a Public Safety and First Responder Chaplain, helping first responders and community members process trauma and loss
Education and background
My background is varied and unique. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance/Opera. I have experience in small business ownership and IT support. In 2015, I earned a Masters of Counseling and became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Texas in 2017. I am married to my best friend for over 30 years and am a grateful father and grandfather.
My approach
I work with people of all ages, faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds with an open and nonjudgmental orientation. I provide a compassionate, practical space to help you talk openly, gain clarity, and choose the best route for your life. Please come as you are. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
