Did you forget again?!
Imagine yourself with the perfect list making tool…suddenly the dry cleaning gets picked up AND you remember to send your mom a birthday card so it gets there in time for her special day! Sound too good to be true? Read on…
I’m kind of a to-do list geek. I love lists, especially to do lists. I even like my “honey do” list because I know how happy it makes my honey when I check things off that she asked me to do!
You may have tried many systems to organize your life and this may sound like just another gimmick, however it just may be the one that works for you, especially if you tend to get disillusioned by how complicated some calendaring systems can get.
Then along came the Bullet Journal! The what?! Do I need a pistol for my Bullet Journal?
This past Friday, I devoted a couple of hours to watching some Youtubes like this one on how to create a Bullet journal and committed to doing it the rest of this year. It’s almost as easy as my usual fallback of making lists on a yellow legal pad, just a bit more organized and portable.
If you are a creative sort you can decorate the pages with doodles or just stick to the basics and add a few checkboxes like me.
What do I need to get started?
All you need is a notebook and a pen or pencil. That’s it. A notebook and a pen. Sounds easy, huh? It really is. Once you learn the basic concept you are up and running. This may be the encouragement you needed to revisit that New Year’s resolution to keep track of your lists!
Why should I get organized?
Have you ever felt like your chaotic inner world is reflected in your outer world? Did you forget something important that you promised to do? As a mental health advocate and therapist, I hope to help my clients structure their outer world because of it how it correlates with healing our inner world.
If you end up giving this a try send me a picture of one of your pages and let me know if it is helping you feel more in control of your life events.
