Trauma and Attachment Informed EMDR Therapy

New Roads Counseling - Marty Schwebel, LMFT

Providing psychotherapy for those who are overwhelmed with life

First Responders Resilience, Inc.

January 22, 2019 by Marty

Last week I did yoga in a crowded room with over 40 sweaty firefighters, police officers, and paramedics from all over California. This memorable moment was at a First Responders Resiliency training. I received an invite because I’m currently volunteering as a chaplain with my local police and fire departments where I support our local community and first responders when there has been a tragedy.

I have always had a deep compassion for our first responders (including military) and their families. The suicide rate in these communities is at an all time high and they need our support.

The organization I’m highlighting has a heart for helping first responders who are struggling with the detrimental effects of being a part of traumatic events. First Responders Resiliency, Inc. has a wonderful tagline – “Putting PTSD Out of Business.” One way to support our first responders is to support organizations that help them to heal from their past trauma and give them tools to build resilience in order to have a more sustainable career and an overall healthier life.
